About Room4Rent

Room 4 Rent Ltd is a privately owned New Zealand company established in 2009. Room4Rent is the ‘Trademe of accommodation’, an online marketplace which allows anyone from homeowners to commercial properties to rent out their spare accommodation.

Room4Rent was the idea of Sam Janett. Sam recognised there was a lack of accommodation around New Zealand especially when large events were taking place. Room4Rent opens up a new option for accommodation by allowing people to rent out their spare rooms or houses to guests. The innovative web design ensures a safe payment system, credible users and genuine accommodation.

Sam is currently studying a Master of Entrepreneurship degree at the University of Otago. He is a member of The Distiller, http://thedistiller.org/, a tech cluster of web entrepreneurs based in Dunedin.

Richard is currently studying a double degree in Law and Economics at the University of Canterbury. Richard’s knowledge of law was vital in setting up Room4Rent, ensuring that the website conforms to New Zealand laws and regulations. His strong work ethic and motivation make him a key member of the Room4Rent team.
