Temporary Accommodation for Christchurch Earthquake Victims

Temporary Accommodation for Christchurch Earthquake Victims

Due to the devastating earthquake that struck Christchurch on the weekend, many people have been left with unsafe and damaged homes. It has become apparent that some victims of the Christchurch earthquake are in desperate need of temporary accommodation. Currently people are staying the night in school halls and other community centres. This post is a call for people in Christchurch who have not been affected by the earthquake to host those who have not been so lucky while they get their lives back in order. If you have spare bedrooms or even a couch you can list with us for free and victims of the earthquake can rent your spare space.

Kiwis are known for helping out a neighbour in need, let’s get behind rebuilding this devastated community.

I have two double bedrooms and adjoining bathroom in apartment on beach in Port Macquarie, Australia. My Christchurch cousin and his wife are coming over in a few weeks, but if anyone would like to come in March they would be very welcome. Port Macquarie is 4 hours from Sydney by car, 1 hour by plane and 6 hours by train. I am a Christchurch girl, and would love to help by giving someone a break from the shakes.
